The Comedies
No survey of the early years of the Songbook in Hollywood would be complete without a romp through the period's myriad comedies, all of which are filled with, yes indeed, lots of tongue and cheek jokes and just as many fine songs. Ken's not sure the gang's going to be able to help themselves from letting 'er rip on some old fashioned gags, but he promises enough great music to make up for it. Look for gems from the catalogs of the Marx Brothers, Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, Mae West, Bob Hope, and a special focus on those crazy Road To... pictures of Bob Hope, Bing Crosby and Dorothy Lamour!
