Youth Orchestra Magic! Dec 5-6

Presenting the first concerts of ESYO's 90th Season by our talented and spirited youth musicians!

Since 1934, the Eugene-Springfield Youth Orchestras has been giving young musicians the opportunity to play in an orchestra of their peers. Their concerts are an unexpected pleasure - these students know what they're doing! Just the right amount of variety, skill, and charm to create a delightful evening of music.

Please join us on Dec. 5th and 6th as our top three orchestras present their first performances of our 90th Anniversary Season. As audience members, you give these young musicians a special kind of support just by being there. Purchase your tickets online - it's easy! On Tuesday, Dec. 5th, the concert will begin with our string ensemble, Little Symphony, conducted by Dale Bradley. These promising young strings players will share a lovely Bach Chorale, as well as music from von Weber's opera Der Freischutz and Symphony #8 by Stamitz.

In the second half, conductor Christopher Noel presents the advanced musicians of Junior Orchestra, a symphony orchestra with winds and brass. Their program includes an exciting piece by Del Borgo called "Aboriginal Rituals," Copland's beautiful "Down a Country Lane", a lively Slavonic Dance by Dvořák, and selections from the Nutcracker.

Both orchestras will combine musical forces to perform the Grand Finale in a 75-piece orchestra!
