Victorian Women’s Costume: Highlights from the Permanent Collection
This winter, we’re thrilled to bring out some of the treasures of our costume collection for your enjoyment, including the pride of our collection, an 1880s bustled wedding dress donated last year by Jan McMurphey. On public display for the first time, this mineral blue silk dress is decorated with delicate fringed trim and is in astonishingly good condition. If you have an interest in the late 19th century, fashion history, or costume, this is an exhibit you won’t want to miss. Now through June at the Shelton McMurphey Johnson House. Tues-Fri, 10 am - 1 pm; Sat and Sun, 1 pm - 4 pm.
