Next Aloha Friday is April 20 at Whirled Pies, 199 W. 8th in Eugene.


Social Hour, 5:00-6:00 pm: Pre-show music is by Makana and Kalani Apo, plus a display of hand-made guitars and original art by John McCloud and Evelyn Tam, Hawaiian food by Everyday Kine Grindz, and pizza and libations by Whirled Pies.


Main Show, 6:00-8:00 pm: Featured perfomers are Hawaiian musicians Peter Apo and Gordon Freitas. Apo is a UO grad, founder of the '60s folk group Travelers 3, and has held various offices in the Hawai‘i state government. He will also give a short talk and Q&A on the state of the Hawaiian Sovereignty movement. At the beginning of the main show, DisOrient Film Festival will preview some of the Hawai‘i-related films being shown in town this weekend.


The event is free, but donations are appreciated. Aloha!
