Social Hour, 5:00-6:00 pm: Pre-show music is by Paul Prince, plus a display by 'ukulele maker Pat Hottenstein, Hawaiian food by Everyday Kine Grindz, and pizza and libations by Whirled Pies. Main Show, 6:00-8:00 pm: Featured perfomer is Seattle 'ukulele virtuoso NEAL CHIN and friends. The first set will be a reunion with his 5-piece Hawaiian-style band 'OLEKONA, joined by dancers from KE ALAULA. After the break Neal will do a solo set showcasing his original compositions and arrangements of popular songs. Finally, he'll do a jazz set with guitarist Jerry Gleason and sax player Joshua Hewetter. Neal is also celebrating the release of his second solo 'ukulele album, The Spotless Mind, which has been nominated for a Nā Hōkū award. During the break we will show KA HANA KAPA, a lovely short film about people who are perpetuating the Hawaiian tradition of making and decorating kapa cloth.
