Heart of the Village

Community Festival

The Village School invites you to attend our annual Heart of the Village Festival, a hands-on showcase of rich music, arts and crafts, and food from our students and school community! Suggested admission cost of $3-5 per person or $10-20 per family of 4. Lunch is available for sale. Event activities include: storytelling, dragon parade, student choir and marimba performances, prayer flag making, bake sale, cake walks, shadow puppet show, craft making, silent auction, raffle baskets, and food! We are delighted to welcome the music of Kef, Eugene's own Balkan dance band, who will take main stage after lunch to perform music from Bulgaria and Macedonia. As part of the festivities, The Village School will be presented with an Oregon Green Schools Premier-level award, which includes receiving an Oregon Green Schools flag and a $500 incentive grant from Lane County Waste Management Division. This award recognizes the school's commitment to making sustainability a priority, in school, at home, and in our community. The Village School is a holistic, arts-integrated K-8 elementary and middle school that was founded in 2000 as one of Oregon's first charter schools. The Village School provides a program that fully integrates the arts within an academic curriculum, educating the whole child ~ head, heart and hands.
