Next Aloha Friday is August 18 at Whirled Pies Downtown, 199 W. 8th in Eugene. Social Hour, 5:00-6:00 pm: Pre-show music is by Jon & Susan McKellar, plus Hawaiian food by Everyday Kine Grindz; pizza and libations by Whirled Pies; and a display table featuring Evelyn Tam's original art cards. Main Show, 6:00-8:00 pm: Keikilani & Leo Lindsey, a father and son duo from Big Island, playing everything from traditional Hawaiian to rock, blues and reggae. Many of their albums have been nominated for Nā Hōkū awards and they've played with Cyril Pahinui and John Cruz. During intermission there'll be a presentation on the round-the-world voyage of the Hawaiian sailing canoe Hōkūle'a, whose theme was raising awareness about climate change.
