Shall We Dance
Fred & Ginger at RKO
In 1933, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers touched foreheads on the set of a Broadway-style production dance number for RKO Radio Picture's new musical, Flying Down To Rio's and danced--and sang--their way into Hollywood history. In all, the pair made 10 films for RKO over the next 6 years, 8 of which were absolutely peerless in their musical content. For OFAM 2013's grand finale, Ken and company present 20 of our favorites from these films, which include The Gay Divorcee, Roberta, Top Hat, Follow The Fleet, Swing Time, Shall We Dance, and Carefree. Look for songs by Youmans, Kern, Berlin, Fields, Porter, and the Gershwins, including "Let Yourself Go", "A Fine Romance", "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes", "Night And Day", "They Can't Take That Away From Me", and "The Way You Look Tonight", and even a few dance turns!
