Aloha Friday

This month's Aloha Friday features Ken Emerson, a multi-instrumentalist with roots in both Hawai'i and California. Ken will give a wide-ranging performance, from traditional Hawaiian to swing, world music, and originals. He has performed with Hawaiian legends Gabby Pahinui, Genoa Keawe, and Jerry Byrd, as well as American icons Donald Fagen, Dave Mason, David Lindley, and many more. The show is Friday, Sept. 16, 6:00-7:45 pm, at Whirled Pies Downtown (Cozmic), 199 W. 8th in Eugene. The show is preceded by a lively social hour, 5:00-6:00 pm, with music by Jon Labrousse & Friends; Hawaiian food by Everyday Kine Grindz; pizza & drinks by Whirled Pies; lomilomi massage; and a crafts table featuring tropical art by Dena Amend. The show is free, but donations are appreciated. Aloha!
