Family Nature Discovery Day

The Art of Nature

Cascades Raptor Center invites area families to take part in our second Family Nature Discovery Day of the summer on Sunday, June 28th, between the hours of 12:00 to 4:00 pm. Families can create original pieces of art (including fairy cottages!) using a picture frame, some sand and provided natural objects such as bark, leaves, rocks, seed pods, shells and more! Participants should remember to bring a camera to snap a picture of the artistic creations as, like most things in nature, the art is temporary. Participants will learn that beauty is everywhere around them in the great outdoors. Visit with some 50 beautiful birds as well! Activities are recommended for children between the ages of 7-12 and children must be accompanied by an adult. Cost of activities are general admission to the Raptor Center (members receive free admission) and a $2 activity charge for children who are participating in activities. If you ride your bike or hike the Ridgeline Trial your activity fee will be waived! This event is sponsored by KVAL and SUB – Springfield Utility Board.
