Historic East Skinner Butte Walking Tour

Take Dad for a walk around the East Skinner Butte Historic Landmark Area with Shelton McMurphey Johnson House volunteer Sandy Bauer. This beautiful neighborhood is part of the first survey and original plat of Eugene, made by Eugene Skinner and D.M. Ridson in 1852. Many of the first homes were built by people involved with the industries that grew up along the Millrace. This area was Eugene’s first historic district and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Meet on Shelton McMurphey Johnson house's front porch at 11 am on Sunday, June 21st. We'll be walking a relatively-level mile on a warm day (including some stairs), so please wear comfortable shoes and a hat. We expect the tour to take about an hour but it may run longer if guests have a lot of questions. Dads are free and we ask for a $5 contribution from everyone else.
