Student Adaptive Bicycle Open House
An event to showcase the City of Eugene Adaptive Recreation's fleet of Unique Bicycles.
Safe Routes to School and the City of Eugene Adaptive Recreation are co-hosting an event at the Hilyard Center called the “Student Adaptive Bicycle Open House” on April 16th from 3:30-6:30pm.
The event will give students from any district who could benefit from a non-traditional bike a chance to try out the fleet of adaptive bicycles. The City has an amazing rental program with more than twenty bicycles including recumbent trikes for one and two people, tandems, hand cycles,off-road wheelchairs and more!
Typically fittings are done by appointment and cost $5, but at the event they will be issued free of charge! The Hilyard Center, located next to the Amazon Park Path is the perfect venue to test out bikes in a safe, car-free environment. Additionally, the Hilyard center will have a new Peacehealth Bicycle Share Station for those who would like to ride with friends and family. There are many different varieties of adaptive bicycles, however there are a limited number of smaller sizes. We would greatly appreciate your help getting the word out about this great event.
