Giants at the Museum!
February Family Day
A really, really big adventure awaits you at the next family day! From mammoths to ground sloths to sabertooth salmon, come celebrate the giant animals from Oregon's deep past. Explore the exhibits, play games, make crafts, and have some huge fun learning about these amazing creatures. Snacks will be provided.
Featuring storytelling by Cullen Vance at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. plus tons of fun activities:
"I-Spy" Observe ancient animals throughout the exhibits!
Ask a Paleontologist! UO paleontologists work closely with the museum. Talk with the experts and check out some fascinating fossils!
How Big Were They? See just how tall some of these massive creatures were, and compare your own height to theirs!
Guess Whose Tooth? Test your ability to match ancient teeth with the ancient animal they came from
Mystery Boxes from UO Team Duckling–Guess what's in the box!
Giant Crafts Create finger puppets and moveable cut-outs of ancient animals to take home.
Fossil Dig with UO Geology Club–Dig up some awesome fossils and practice your paleontology skills.
Included with regular admission; half-price admission for families presenting EBT cards; free for MNCH members.
