MLK Day of Service at Hendricks Park
Join the community in a day of service to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, who never stopped asking, “What are you doing for others?”
Help defend the native plants of Hendricks Park from the ivy-invaders. The work is hard, but the reward is a great – preserving a healthy and thriving forest that will continue to be enjoyed by the community. Plus, we have wintry-themed snacks for hungry helpers. Tools and gloves will be provided, just wear warm clothes and come prepared to get dirty.
Afterwards, stick around to hear from the City of Eugene’s urban forester, Scott Altenhoff, on what you can find alive and well in our enchanted, wintery forests.
