Building leaders in our community youth!
4-H OPEN HOUSE- We welcome you to come and learn about our clubs on November 4, 2017 from 11 am to 2 pm at the Southern Oregon Extension office located at 569 Hanley Rd., Central Point, OR 97502. You can see and pet animals, learn about Lego-robotics, photography, public speaking, cooking, art and sewing clubs to name a few. 4-H Leaders and Members will be on hand to explain what 4-H is all about, and they can answer your questions and help you to find an ideal club!
4-H is a national organization which helps young people develop life-long knowledge and skills to become engaged citizens. Through 4-H, youth are also taught how to meet the diversities and challenges of today’s society by bringing together youth and adults to design programs that will teach skills for living. 4-H is truly a model of the “learning by doing” teaching concept. It reaches people in their own communities with delivery methods suitable to their needs. 4-H also helps to provide opportunities for families and communities to develop stronger bonds.
Many studies cumulatively conclude that 4-H members have developed critical life skills through the program including social skills, personal development, leadership, and responsibility. Ultimately, 4-H alumni become more confident and capable young citizens who are willing to step out, serve others and get involved in the community.
