Next Aloha Friday is September 15 at Whirled Pies Downtown, 199 W. 8th in Eugene.
Social Hour, 5:00-6:00 pm:
Pre-show music is by Kapono Lopez, plus Hawaiian food by Everyday Kine Grindz; pizza and libations by Whirled Pies; and a display of Hawaiian curios by Kathie Spinola.
Main Show, 6:00-8:00 pm:
Brother Noland, influential songwriter, innovator and traditional Hawaiian man, considered the father of Hawaiian reggae, a.k.a. Jahwaiian music. Noland is also a lifelong outdoorsman, teaches classes in survival skills, and has written a book on the subject. During intermission he will do a presentation on Hawaiian survival skills.
The event is free, but donations are appreciated. Aloha!
