S.P.I.C.E Sciene Fair

From rockets to lasers, futuristic machines to bio engineering, Lane County kids are preparing science experiments for the 2017 Science and Invention Fair. The fair is put on by the U of O’s Science Program to Inspire Creativity and Excellence, or SPICE, which aims to “build a community of young scientists” through outreach efforts including summer camps and school workshops. grades k through 8. “Young scientists should start work on their experiments and inventions now so they’ll have time to follow the scientific method which includes planning, testing and evaluation.” says Brandy Todd, director of the program. Resources for planning and completing an independent project can be found on the SPICE program web site at www.spicescience.uoregon.edu.
